Sea Windfarm

I produced this while between projects to open up other internal markets in our company. I had done a similar wind farm showing just the generators and the sky, but wanted to create something more dramatic. For this one I went for a post-storm look and tried to emphasize the feel of being on the waves. Several failed attempts to get some sea spray with particals so I opted to leave them off for now. The wave geometry was produced with Dreamscape. Post work in Photoshop. Hope you enjoy.

I-95/I-695 Interchange

This is a close up of a massive highway interchange NE of Baltimore. This was my favorite of the 5 still views produced since the camera angle is a little more interesting. The main product was a 3 minute animation following the foreground car through the interchange. Once the animation is re-rendered (I didn't like the lighting pass) I'll post a link. Approximately 35K proxy cars and 80K proxy trees in the entire scene.

Bridge Construction

Boring as it might sound, I'm finding bridge construction to be very intereting. For this type, the bridge is actually built using falsework (the trusses) adjacent to where it will be and is then moved into place. For this series I went with a more illustrative look using VRay Toon. I happen to like the composition and pallette of this one.

Hope you enjoy!
This goes back a ways and I think was actually scanline. I enjoyed the challenge of getting the look of GI and interesting reflection/refractions with scanline.
